DESCRIPTION

This program will identify and discuss cutting edge issues faced by today’s fire investigation professionals, beginning with the fire scene investigation, to the presentation of testimony in the courtroom.

At the completion of the course you will be able to:
  • Protect an investigation from spoliation, improper methodology, alternative theories.
  • Accommodate the latest scientific and legal challenges to fire scene investigations.
  • Strategically respond to a Daubert challenge.
  • Effectively present Demonstrable Evidence during a trial
  • Be aware of the skills needed to be an effective witness.
The course will include tips on relating to today’s CSI generation juror and the importance of recognizing those expectations from the fire scene to the courtroom conclusion. The class will also identify the influence of NFPA 921 during all phases of the investigation and the importance of the use of the Scientific Method in fire investigations.
This class does not replace teh Expert Witness Courtroom Testimony Class.
