Complete Fire Investigation-Certified Fire Investigator

Duties for each assignment include, but are not limited to: travel to and from loss location, photographs, thorough scene examination, interview of witnesses, fire officials, insureds, etc., verbal reports, and expert written report.

Requirements:
  • Must have or be able to quickly obtain Certified Fire Investigator through the IAAI (IAAI-CFI®) and/or Certified Fire Explosive Investigator (CFEI) through NAFI.
  • Must hold, or have the ability to obtain a Private Investigator License in the state in which they are assigned within 60 days of employment (if applicable).
  • Must have working knowledge of NFPA 921.
  • Previous expert testimony or deposition experience highly preferred, but not required.
  •  Minimum 2-4 years of actual origin and cause experience investigating in the public and/or private sectors on residential and commercial structures.
  • Must be extremely well organized with the ability to deliver fast and accurate turnaround report times.
  • Degree or some college coursework is preferred, but not required.
