Fire Origin & Cause Unlimited Service-Fire Investigator

Professional Responsibilities:
•    Primary responsibility is to investigate the origin and cause of fires and explosions of all complex levels for residential, commercial structures, vehicles and marine fires.  Must apply knowledge of general fire scene safety and potential hazards during investigations.  Use methods outlined in NFPA921.
•    Taking photographic evidence, interviews and physical evidence collection. 
•    Photography & documentation of every fire scene
•    Preparing oral and written reports that document the fire incident causes and what was ruled out as causing the fire.
•    “Court qualified” - Expert testimony
•    Frequent driving
•    Lifting 50 lbs. +
•    Climbing ladders fitting in small, confined spaces
•    Be able to work outside in all climates
•    This position requires a dedicated investigative professional who will respond to fire and explosion events.

Work Schedule/Territory:
Full-time  Monday – Friday (hours vary and infrequent weekends)
Primarily the tristate area (NY, NJ, CT)
Overnight / traveling included

Minimum Qualifications:
o    Associates Degree in Fire Science or 5 years of experience with fire scene investigations
o    CFI or CFEI
o    CVFI or willingness to obtain within 6 months of full-time employment
o    Experience in fire and explosion investigations
o    Knowledge of NFPA921 & NFPA1033
o    Valid driver’s license
o    Excellent communication skills and report writing skills
