Jensen Hughes-Fire Investigator

Responsibilities:

· Conduct origin & cause investigations using accepted industry standards including, but not limited to appropriate digital and film photography, video, diagrams, and written/recorded statements

· Document, collect (tags and bags), secure, and transport evidence; ensuring chain of custody procedures are followed

· Able to apply failure analysis knowledge

· Provide honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on various fires and explosions

· Perform field studies and research on a daily basis

· Must travel to perform investigations

· Interface closely with clients and able to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information

· Communicates with customers to provide timelines and project updates on a consistent basis

· Provides expert testimony for court cases

· Must have superior customer service skills

· Will provide timely, detailed written reports

Qualifications

· Private Investigator license or the ability to acquire within 30 days of hire

· CFI and/or CFEI certification or the ability to obtain immediately

· Expert level knowledge and understanding of NFPA 921 & NFPA 1033

· Minimum of five (5) years of equivalent experience; a combination of education and experience will be considered

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Location: Seattle, WA or surrounding areas, Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, San Diego, CA, and Boston, MA. The position could also possibly be based in another location in the US for an experienced candidate.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
