Elections

For 2025, IAAI members (Active and Lifetime members who are current) will vote for candidates for six open positions:

IAAI 2nd Vice President: Chris Ward (unopposed)

IAAI Foundation Board of Directors: Robert Renton (unopposed) - no information submitted.

Monday, February 10 - All members eligible to vote (Active and Life members) will be sent a link to vote online starting 12 noon ET. 

The email with the IAAI 2025 election ballot will be sent via announcement@associationvoting.com You can trust this sender and follow the link to cast your vote.  If you do not receive the email, please check your SPAM folder and if not received in either folder, please contact IAAI Chief of Staff Franks at elizabeth.franks@firearson.com

Monday, April 7 - Voting closes at 12 noon Eastern. Results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting  in conjunction with the ITC in Atlantic City.

Standard Annual IAAI Nominations and Elections Timeline:

April

  • Annual election results are announced during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at ITC.
  • Call for Nominations for next year elections from the floor of the AGM during ITC.

April – September

  • Nominations can be submitted (via the online form linked above). Nominations can be submitted at any time through September 1 of the year preceding the election year (i.e. by September 1, 2025 for 2026 elections).

September – October

  • All nominations received are reviewed by the Nominating Committee.
  • The Nominating Committee will send nominees a link to submit their information for elections:
    • Nominee Questions
    • Profile
    • Headshot

October

  • All complete information is reviewed by the Nominating Committee and forwarded to the Elections Committee

January

  • Information submitted by the candidates will be included in the winter issue of the Fire & Arson Investigator Journal and posted on the website under “Meet Your Candidates.”

February

  • Current Active and Life members in good standing will receive an electronic ballot approximately 8 weeks prior to the AGM at ITC.

April

  • Voting will be open through 12 noon on the day of the AGM at ITC.
  • In the event of a tie vote between candidates for the same position, a ballot will be conducted during the Annual General Meeting and will contain the names of the tying candidates only.
  • The results of the election shall be received and announced by the Chairman of the Election Committee at the AGM at ITC.
